Aaron, Collier, Tripp and I went down the Wakulla.

I wanted to go kayaking Thursday after work and I invited Aaron to go. It was his first time kayaking. The boys went too, they rode on the rear. Although Tripp and Collier were excited and loud all the way down the river and back, we still saw plenty of manatee, gators, birds and turtles.

When we made it back, it was almost dark, and we had a big story to tell. We had seen three manatee early and watched them and even petted a baby one. Shortly after seeing those, we paddled across four more in a narrow, shallow area. I had drifted across the back of a large one and he did not like that! He thrusted away quickly with his large paddle tail, covering Tripp an me with grass, mud and plenty of water. It felt like a wild ride at Disney World! He filled my kayak to the top with water and mud in just a fraction of a second. We all got a big laugh out of it and continued on.

It looks like they had fun! I thought Collier was shy and quiet, Tripp and he talked the whole ride.

The boys still had plenty of energy left after the ride. Next time they get to do the paddling!
